Wellwood Hoyle Associates is owned and operated by Philip Hoyle, FCCA, a Fellow member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants who qualified in 1988.

Philip started his own practice in 2000 after over 15 years small  business experience working in local Chartered Accountancy practices and industry around Morecambe Bay.

He has a "hands on" approach and started his accountancy career at the bottom, brewing up and filing, before working his way up the ladder, reaching senior positions in leading local accountancy practices, and then moving into industry at Board level at an award winning manufacturing firm exporting their goods worldwide.

We have a wide range of business clients, mostly freelancers, IT consultants and other one-man or small family businesses such as shops, guest houses, and light industry, both local and across the UK who we service entirely by email, phone and online accounting systems.

We work "with" our clients and we try to get to know them.  By doing so, we feel that we can be far more pro-active and able to offer personal services to our clients.  We help our clients through all stages of their business, from start-up or purchase right through growth and development and onto sale, retirement or close down.

We have an eviable reputation - the majority of our clients have been with us for many years and most new clients are referred by existing happy clients.

We offer a range of affordable payment options, from the old-fashioned "time based" billing where we charge by the hour, to the more popular retainer packages where fixed monthly fees are agreed for a range of services.

We recommend online or "cloud" book-keeping systems, but if you don't want an online system and prefer a destop based system, then we recommend Quickbooks which in our opinion is easier to use, more functional and cheaper than Sage, the market leader.
